So is anyone interested in ‘The Carrie Diaries’?
If you do, this is the first photo of baby Bradshaw in the 80’s in Manhattan. If you don’t have any idea what I’m on about right now, The Carrie Diaries is the prequel book (book series? I dunno.) to Sex and the City, both written by Candace Bushnell. Of course, any opportunity to cash in on the Sex and the City franchise will be done, regardless of how awful it is (Sex and the City 2, I’m looking at you.), so obviously there’s a new TV series being based on The Carrie Diaries.
Now, I can only assume that the plot will revolve around the mystery that is ‘how does AnnaSophia’s face end up looking like Sarah Jessica Parker’s?’ I hope that’s the finale of the series. Just a mugshot of Sarah Jessica Parker and a PSA about not partying too hard when you’re young. Seriously though, AnnaSophia is pretty, kind of like a less snarly Taylor Momsen:
Also, I feel like she’s not reaaaaaally dressed like she’s in the 80’s, but rather, how teenagers today dress when they want to look like they’re dressing as though they’re in the 80’s. That being said, it’s a CW show (formerly The WB, and the same network that has Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, The OC, Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, Buffy’s first 5 seasons, Angel, 90210, Popular, Grosse Pointe, my new favourite/about to be cancelled Ringer, and basically every other teen show that’s changed your life in the last 15 years) and to say that the whole network is flailing would be a massive understatement because Vampire Diaries is the only one that’s getting half decent ratings at the moment (I tip my hat off to Kevin Williamson for adding vampires to Dawson’s Creek and cashing in all over again for a new generation of teenagers. Legitimate genius.) My guess is that they’re not so much focused on accuracy, but rather, doing whatever they can to get themselves a new hit TV series to stop the embarrassment of potentially cancelling four or five shows at the end of this season.
If you’re wondering where you’ve seen her before, she was in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and more recently, Soul Surfer, that movie about that girl who got her arm bit off my a shark and
didn’t learn her lesson overcame her fears and continued surfing.
Anyway, are you gonna check it out? I probably will because I haven’t matured at all since I was about 14 and therefore am still interested in tween shows.
