The Wanted have burnt a lot of bridges this week.
Well, they’ve had a busy week, haven’t they? First calling Christina a total bitch, which although true, will ensure that they never appear on The Voice again, and now blasting my girl Britney. Well, her security team, really, but watch below:
Britney’s team, who are all-powerful, were not too happy, and released the following statement:
What’s even more interesting than the false allegations they made is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female pop stars in just a few days. Look out Lady Gaga—there are still three days left this week.
Now, when I say ‘Britney’s team are all powerful’, I mean they control pretty much everything and anything Britney related within a 500 mile radius of her at any given point of the day. Particularly with interview/tour stuff, there are endless stories of her team’s demands for interview questions ahead of time, of making pretty much anyone and everyone sign confidentiality agreements, not allowing any drugs or alcohol anywhere on her tour, to the point where crew members have been fired for going out after concerts, the list goes on.
Basically what I’m saying is that it absolutely wouldn’t surprise me if The Wanted’s story was true, but either way, when you say on TV ‘we signed a confidentiality agreement but whatever let’s tell it anyway,’ (I’m paraphrasing.) do you really think that’s a great move for your career, particularly this early on, before you’ve even secured your audience outside the UK?
If I was looking for an opening act for a huge pop star, a Gaga, Madonna, whoever, I’d take one look at The Wanted’s track record from this week alone and be like ‘fuck that, way too much drama,’ and call up their more attractive, more popular counterparts, One Direction.
