LiLo totaled her car.
So that’s what a Porsche looks like when you smash into an 18-wheeler. Fuck.
Basically, Lindsay and her assistant had a collision with the back of the truck which left them both bleeding and bruised. They were both conscious and didn’t travel by ambulance, though. The truck driver was fine, too, and neither Lindsay or the driver of the truck were under the influence of alcohol. Yay Lindsay! Amanda Bynes should take notes, you don’t turn down breathalyzers if you haven’t been drinking. Oh wait, she definitely had been.
Now she may not have been drunk, but the accident may have been her fault. She says the 18-wheeler cut her off. According to the truck driver, her and her assistant got out of the smashed up Porsche and directly into an Escalade that was following them. Then he claims that her people tried to bribe him to keep the story quiet, which is a video that you can watch over at TMZ.
Personally, I’ll wait for the 911 call to make my decision on whether I believe him or not. I think it’s entirely plausible, given that it’s LiLo and she’s a well-known liar, but there’s a whole lot of stuff in the video that doesn’t really make sense to me.
If he really wasn’t looking for money then he probably wouldn’t have done two interviews with TMZ, who are obviously paying him. In the second one he talks about how the accident was all her fault and how all his witnesses said they saw her swerving around like a madwoman, flyin’ down the freeway. He also mentions that they’ve got it on video, which is something I’ll wait to see.
Anyway, Linds’ got herself checked out at the hospital and was released, heading straight for her original destination, the Liz and Dick set.
Apparently she’s got plenty of bruises and scratches but refused to let the producers cancel shooting for the day. She asked the make up artists to patch her up so she could keep shooting.
Honestly, I think even if the crash was her fault, accidents happen. It’s not like she was like ‘I don’t feel like going to work today, oh, look, here’s a way out.’
I do, however, think it’s good that she seems focused on her work instead of going to TMZ to revel in the drama and share her side of the story, which is absolutely what the ’07 version of LiLo would’ve done. This is as good a place as any to post (re-post?) this video, because it’s one of my all-time favourites.
I want a t-shirt that says ‘I’m sorry for everyone that thinks I’m crazy; I’m not. I’m just trying to act.’ because it might be my favourite thing Lindsay’s ever said.
